The raw material
used by Uniflora comes from all over the country . We have suppliers
(beekeepers) from Rio Grande do Sul (South area) to Piauí (North area).
We work with domestic honey, seeking for quality and characteristic
taste, in spite of the high price. Brazilian production is estimated at
forty thousand tons annually.
The products, when they are
received, pass rigorous quality control which analyses the humidity
level (to avoid fermentation), acid and enzyme level (to verify the
storage condition of the product), the colour (to classify into company
standards for each product), pH and chemical reaction that detects any
addition of commercial sugar or superheating of the product.
Propolis is received from some
states, mainly São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Paraná. Currently Brazil
produces around 100 tons per year of raw propolis. Depending on the
region in which the propolis was produced, it has different
characteristics of colour, taste and active compounding (antibiotics and
antiinflammatories).
Our plant has HCCP and GMP
controls.
Our production are controlled
by SIF (Federal Inspection Service) from Brazilian government that keeps
technician people controlling all of our lots.
There are
propolis with low antibiotic and antiiflammatories properties. Once
received, it passes through analysis of bee wax, mechanic mass, soluble
solids (dry weight), oxidation level and bioflavonoids level (analysed
through a Computerized Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, which
indicates the therapeutic properties). Similar controls are made in the
royal jelly, bee pollen and medicinal plants also received.
