Propolis is a balm-resinous substance that has several consistence and coloration, varying from brown to dark green. Bees collect it from several parts of the plants as sprouts, floral buttons and resinous exudates, being transported inside of the beehive and modified by the bees through its own enzymes. This substance is used by the bees in the entrance of the beehives in order to close openings, to avoid the penetration of cold wind and, mainly to prevent from natural enemies (fungus and bacteria). Propolis is also used as a construction material inside the beehive, welding honeycombs, frames and polishing the interior of the alveoli for the queen to do the posture. 

The chemical composition of the propolis depends on the botanical ecology of each area and by the bee race, but generally, it is compose of 50% of resin and balm, 30% of wax, 10% of essential and aromatic oils, 5% of pollen and 5% of several other substances. Until the moment they were already more than 200 chemical compounds identified in the propolis, like the flavonoids, aromatic acids, terpenoids, aldehydes, alcohols, aliphatic acid and esters, amino acids, steroids, sugar, etc.

Continuing use of propolis extract does not cause the same kind of microbiological resistance observed in conventional antibiotics. These conventional antibiotics attack the micro-organism by a specific mechanism, breaking its cell membrane structure, its DNA or other in-cell structures thus preventing its survival.

Propolis Extract Alcohol Free:  It is produced at 60 Brix Grade. We recommend it to people who are not able, or don't like, to use alcoholic products. The recommendations are similar of the Propolis Extract Medium Type. It presents also better anti-fungal properties against the fungus M. kennels, T. rubrum, T. mentagrophytes and Scopulariopsis. This product is also Wax Free, which means, no residue when dilute in water.

  Propolis sensitive people should not use the product.   

    COLLATERAL EFFECTS

  Till now there are no concrete reports about collateral effects, but it should be attempted for the occurrence of allergic reactions. 

RECOMMENDATIONS OF USE

  Our recommendations of use are show below. It is only for reference. Depending on the age, weight and body response it could be increased or decreased.

External use - to apply directly on the affected area, properly clean and dry. 

Internal use: Adults: 20 drops, 03 time a day, preferred in fast. It can be ingested pure or with milk, water,  honey or juice.
