small original aquatic or semi-aquatic plant of Europe and that is
well acclimatized in Brazil. Yours fresh stems and leafs are
eatable, it has characteristic smell and bitter flavor, slightly
spicy. Presents in your constitution essential oil (pheniletile iso
sulfocyanat), mineral salts (P, Fe, I, S and Ca), sulfur heterosids,
vitamins (A, B2, D, C, and PP), glycosides (glyconasturnin) and
bitter principles. It has notable bio-availability of sulfur in your
molecule.
The watercress composition
allows the following functions: stimulant, tonic, healing,
depurative, anti-inflammatory, decongestant, digestive, diuretic and
antiscorbutic (rich in C vitamin).
The Uniflora produces her
own watercress extract, what allows that has a total controls of the
production conditions, the physical chemistries and microbiological
characteristics of it. Before being incorporated to the honey, this
extract is analyzed in our laboratories and if necessary, it is
concentrated to produce a highly efficient final product.
The Eucalyptus
globulus (blue eucalyptus) are found in humid valley of New
South Wales and Victoria; it is a leafy tree and great load; yours
white-creamy flat peel is going peeling off and renewing along the
time; the juvenile foliage is oval and of silver-bluish coloration.
The used parts are the leaves and the oil. The active components are
volatile oils, mainly cineol (eucalyptol), a composed terpene with
the typical scent of the eucalyptus, terpineol and pinene;
polyphonic acid (gallic, caffeic) and flavonoids (eucalyptin,
rutin). It is a aromatic herb, stimulant, decongestant and
expectorant, relaxes spasms and lowers the fever. Externally is used
in inhalations, to catarrh, bronchitis, sinusitis, colds, and
grippe; in liniments (liquid preparations for application in
frictions), for bruises, twists and muscular pains; in ointments,
for wounds and abscesses.
The propolis is a
resinous and balsamic substance, it has some coloration and several
consistencies, varying to brown color to dark green. It is produced
by the bees from leave sprouts and resinous exudates of plants, and
used inside the beehive " to fix " honey-comb, to lacquer the
alveoli, to close breaches for the reduction of cold wind entrance,
and, mainly, to protect of the natural enemies: fungus and bacteria.
It is also be used to embalm small animals killed by the bees inside
the beehive, which could not be getting out, avoiding in this way
their putrefaction.
The chemical composition of
the propolis depends on the botanical ecology of each area and by
the bee race, but generally, it is compose of 50% of resin and balm,
30% of wax, 10% of essential and aromatic oils, 5% of pollen and 5%
of several other substances. Until the moment they were already more
than 200 chemical compounds identified in the propolis, like the
flavonoids, aromatic acids, terpenoids, aldehydes, alcohols,
aliphatic acid and esters, amino acids, steroids, sugar, etc. The
intense studies on propolis reveal that these compounds are for its
several physiologic actions: anti-microbe (it works as a natural
antibiotic), anti-inflammatory, healing, anesthetic and antioxidant
(it combats the free radicals).
The quality of the propolis
extract is controlled through the following parameters: dosage of
flavonoids contents (through analysis in spectrophotometer), Brix
degree, dry residue percentage, alcoholic graduation and density.
Our microbiology laboratory has a standard methodology to test the
anti microbes activity of the used propolis, with the objective to
control and to check the antibiotic power of the final product.
The honey is
produced by bees from the nectar of the flowers. It is a rich food,
which presents in its composition simple sugars with fast
assimilation on the organism, mineral salts (potassium, sodium,
calcium, phosphorus, iron, manganese, etc.), amino acids, enzymes
and vitamins. It presents the following properties: expectorant,
fluidifying, healing and antiseptic.
The honey used in Uniflora
becomes by suppliers approved with constant accompaniment of yours
productions. All the lots when then receive in the company are
analyzed strictly, not only with reference to the purity, but also
to the hygienic conditions of extraction, that guarantee the quality
of the product.
